Warren Junior Women's League/GFWC Public Affairs Committee members visited 21 area salons and passed out 350 Cut It Out pamphlets on Domestic Violence. Cut It Out, a program of the Salons Against Domestic Abuse is dedicated to mobilizing salon professionals and others to fight the epidemic of domestic abuse in communities throughout the US. Cut It Out focuses on building national awareness of the pervasive nature of domestic abuse and on training salon professionals to recognize the signs of abuse in their clients and to safely refer them to local resources. The Place to Be, in Cortland was one of the salons participating in the Cut It Out program. A 24 hour National Domestic Violence Hot Line 1-800-799-SAFE is available www.cutitout.org.
