He became Girard's Junior High principal in 2005. Then 2 years later moved to the High School. He said "The Junior high kid, is in a transitional mode, with a nurturing component. At the high school level, your contributing more. The vision is to get the kids ready, to compete against the world. I want the kids to have a positive school culture, that recognizes the kids. We are getting the kids prepared, for national bench marks, not just the states requirements We want to prepare the kids for the act". "Our stems program has made a big plus to the school. The stem program, motivates students to think beyond high school, to college and career choices. We've tried to foster a sense of urgency about what they are doing in high school and beyond. We do the basics very well and are proud of it" said Bill. I wanted to hear about the new school, he said "The school will give the kids better access to technology, and lap tops. The teachers will have modules, smart boards and many other positive changes." He wants the teachers goal to get Girard to GOLD next time. He said, "The school is looking into getting a activity bus, to transport kids to the stadium, but the kids can go on their own also". Asking Bill what is his goal he stated "I want to run the best high school Girard has ever had, and further my education." I talked to a couple kids at the school Junior Lyndsey Crown said "He interacts with us, and he is tough but fair." Ryan Delbene a junior said, "He sets high standards. Like giving more respect to teachers and kids. He also is a great leader, and very motivational". William has 2 kids Jake 12 and Sarah 10, both who are involved in sports and many other activities. This is a great guy and principal. He always says Hi, He just doesn't walk by you and thinks he is better then you. I hope he stays in the Girard system a long time. THANK YOU BILL.
