Dr. Seuss birthday

A delicious luncheon was prepared by Brookfield's Fire Department Women's Auxiliary.

Thirty-four of Brookfield's senior citizens braved the wintry blast to attend their February meeting. Admissions Director form O'Brien Memorial, Health Care Center, Karolyn Karids, BSN, RN was on hand to give blood pressure readings. A delicious luncheon consisting of macaroni and cheese, mastacholli, beverages, salad, a fruit  cup, a frozen cranberry confection and assorted desserts made the trip worthwhile. Following the meal, the seniors enjoyed playing Bingo for prizes.

Students in Mrs. Leonard's 2ND grade class at St. Patrick school celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday by making their own hats and listening to Dr. Seuss stories read by Mrs. Leonard who dressed up as the Cat in the Hat. In the afternoon the students were treated to a special surprise; They watched the movie "The Cat in the Hat. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO.

Students in grades K-5 at St. Patrick School were visited by Representative from Life Banc on March 5. The students learned about the important organs in their bodies and how each one functions. Students participated by answering questions, and making small projects. Students in grade 3 watched a puppet show that covered how everyone is different and that laughing and making fun of someone because of a difference or disability is never o.k. The students also discussed the importance of organ donation.
