Julia Castner, sixth grader at Reed Middle School, Hubbard, is still racing her Soap Box Derby Stock Car and may be on her way to the World Championship again after her next race in Youngstown.  She has "rally" raced through 2007 and 2008 to earn points to attend July 2008's All American SBD World Championship.  She is only one point away from attending the All American and will earn that point and possibly more on April 19-20.  The Greater Youngstown Area Soap Box Derby is holding its annual Joe Lane Memorial "RALLY IN THE RIDGE" April 19-20.  GYASBD will hold its

annual LOCAL Race on June 21.  Julia and her dad are building a new MASTERS style car now for the LOCAL race.  There is still time for you to build a car for the LOCAL race and participate. Come on out and see what Soap Box Derby Racing is all about, it's free and you can come anytime after 9am to see over 50 racers compete down Seaborn Street in Mineral Ridge.  Take I-80 W to Rt.46; go north towards Mineral Ridge, then turn left on Church Street, follow to end, and then turn right near school and look for parking.  Good Luck Jamin Julia!
