TNT Scholarships

Trumbull New Theatre is distributing scholarship applications. Since 1975 TNT has annually awarded several scholarships , ranging $250-$500 per award to high school seniors or full-time college students. TNT is looking for individuals who demonstrate a love of theatre and will participate in community theatre after graduation. The single greatest requirement for these scholarships is a love of theatre. Applications are available from guidance counselors and advisors. Anyone with questions can call 330-856-2129.

HELP meeting and fundraiser

Hubbard Environmental & Land Preservation will hold their next meeting on Wednesday, April 30 at 7 pm. in the Hubbard City Council Chambers. All members are urged to attend.
In other news, members of Hubbard Environmental have been busy planning our next round of fundraisers. Our next event will be a garage sale that will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.. We will be holding the sale at 2549 Bell Wick Rd. in Hubbard. Its promised to have many nice items on hand for this sale. So, why don't you stop and see us? You might find a nice bargain in the process.
We are continuing to sell our raffle tickets for the Jim Tressle Autographed Football. We will be at Devine's SHOP-N-SAVE on May 3 and 24 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.. Stop on buy and see us and will give you the opportunity to own a piece of sports history.
As always, we appreciate the support of this community to help us continue our work on environmental matters that will affect us all. We could not do this without your help. Please be assured that all the monies that we raise goes towards the protection of our citizens. Remember to be kind to your neighbors, take care of your property and PLEASE RECYCLE.

Lil Wayne Concert
rescheduled

The Lil Wayne Concert at the Chevrolet Centre that was scheduled for this Sunday April 20th is another casualty of the Hollywood Writers Strike. Dwayne Michael Carter Jr aka Lil Wayne had a previous commitment to appear on an episode of CSI; but due to the Writers Strike shooting the episode was delayed. Now that Hollywood is back up and running; Lil Wayne is held to his commitment and unfortunately the production schedule calls for his appearance this weekend.
All tickets will be honored at the Saturday, May 10th show and 2500 additional tickets have been made available.

St. Patrick School Kindergarten screenings May 6

St. Patrick school 38 E. Water St. Hubbard will be conduction Kindergarten screenings for the 2008-09 school year May 6. Screenings are by appointment. To receive a registration packet and schedule an appointment call the school office at 330-534-2509.
Parents will need to bring copies of the child's birth certificate, immunization records, social security card, and Baptism certificate if it is applicable.
St. Patrick School accepts the Ohio Ed.Choice Scholarship and offers financial assistance to those who qualify. The school also offers a monthly payment plan. Busing is available from Hubbard, Brookfield, Liberty, and Youngstown. Visit the schools website at www.stpatshub.com to see all that the school has to offer.

Parent Power Workshop

The Trumbull County Family and Children First Council's Parent Power Workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 30, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at TCAP (Trumbull Community Action Program), 1230 Palmyra Road, Warren. Please note the different location, day of the week, and time for this month's workshop which will cover "Effective Discipline... What Works?" Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
