New Divorce Recovery
Program

Open to all denominations - St Patrick Church sponsors a program to help individuals cope with the difficulties and struggles associated with separation and divorce.  Our program is educational, supportive, and confidential and facilitated by a parishioner who has experienced divorce as well.  We view 13 different videos throughout the course which include but is not limited too, how to cope with depression, loneliness, kidcare, finances, new relationships, etc.  Additional information is offered from Consumer Credit Counseling Services and the Diocese on Annulments - as needed.  There is no cost to the program and no obligation.  This is our 5th year - with over 200 people having gone through our program.  Social Networking beyond weekly meeting is available also.  For more information, call in confidence to 330-534-1928 or 330-261-2911 or come - Tuesday Evenings 6-8 p.m. Basement of Administration Building 225 North Main Street, Hubbard, Ohio - enter through South Side of Building near Divorce Recovery Sign.

Snow Removal Services

The Brookfield Township Board of Trustees is compiling a listing of private residents and business owners who have snow removal equipment, are bonded and insured, to service Brookfield Township residents during future winters. The listing will be made available to Township residents. Those offering the snow removal services and meet the requirements may write a letter to the Township Trustees specifying approximate cost of their service, or contact the Township Secretary at 6844 Strimbu Dr. Brookfield Ohio 44403.

Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday April 12, 2008 RSPA held its annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Several families braved the weather and came out for juice, cookies, coffee, hot chocolate and festive activities, including hunting for lots and lots of eggs.  Several prizes were awarded and everyone left smiling.  Thanks to the community who supported this years hunt and hopefully next year the weather will be better. Special thanks to the following:  Bellwick Bowl, Cortland Bank, Dairy Queen, Dean Foods, Devine's Shop N Save, Frankie's Café, Hello Brothers Club, Herr Snack Foods, HHS National Honor Society, Hubbard Music, Kiwanis Club, Lion's Club, McDonalds, Mageros Candy, Optimist Club, Pizza Works, Rotary Club, Youngstown Oxygen, Kounty Kritters 4-H, and Walgreens. 

Gospel Music Jam

The Shepherd of the Valley Church will be having a Gospel Music Jam on Sunday April 27 at 5:45 p.m. Donations are $6 for adults 6-12 are $4 and 5 and under are free. The music will be begin at 7 p.m. For more information call 724-962-4000 or 724-588-3550.

On May 3, Junior Achievement will hold its annual Bowl-A-Thon at Camelot Lanes. The event will be from 4-7 p.m. Companies form five-person teams with each bowler collecting a minimum of $40 in pledges. Bowlers don't have to be from the same company, and don't have to be regular (or even good) bowlers.
Incentive prizes are offered for individuals raising $50, $100, and $200. Thanks to the efforts of this year's participants, we hope to raise more than $45,000.
The JA Bowl-A-Thon is a great opportunity for particpants to support Junior Achievement while enjoying a great eventing of bowling, food and prizes.

Spring
Classic and gathering

MidAtlantic Highland Association's Spring Classic and Northeast Highland Cattle Association's Spring Gathering will be held jointly at 4-H Park in Mercer, PA. May 9 and 10. It will be a 3-in-1 weekend beginning with the Market Steer Show at 2 p.m. Friday May 9 followed by Junior Showmanship and Junior Show.
Continuing  Saturday May 10, will be the Open Show at 10 a.m. followed by the Central Bull Test and Select Heifer Sale. Anyone interested in Highlands is welcome to attend the shows and sales. For more information visit

Ohio Cultural Alliance

When the Ohio Cultural Alliance meets for its dinner meeting on Monday, May 5, the speaker will be Mary B. Smith, long time resident of the Valley and the person who has the longest association with Youngstown State University--more than 70 years! The meeting will be held at the Youngstown Club in downtown Youngstown located on the corner of Commerce and Walnut Streets.
Cultural enrichment will be provided by the Wade Raridon Singers.
