Brush and branches

The City of Hubbard Street Department will start picking up limbs and branches with weather permitting on April 28, 2008. This will continue one day a week thru the month of October. The City WILL NOT PICKUP railroad ties, landscape ties, construction lumber or any thing with roots attached. Everything picked up must be the size one-man can carry and 10 inches or less in diameter. Items must be at tree lawn or curb.

Church Trash and Treasure Sale in Girard

The First Christian Church of Girard, 140 E. Broadway, is holding a Trash and Treasure Sale Friday, May 2 and Saturday May 3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Hundreds items, including clothes, linens, books, home décor, records, tapes and household items are priced to sell. A light lunch featuring vegetable soup, hot dogs, snacks, and a dessert is also available.

Mother's Day Make and Take

Babytime at Hubbard Public Library

The Hubbard Public Library Children's Room will offer Babytime programs for babies ages birth through 24 months and their caregivers at 10:00 a.m. on the following dates:  Fridays May 9, June 13, July 11 and Saturdays May 17, June 7, and July 26. Babytime features rhymes, songs, and finger plays for babies and their caregivers to enjoy together. Babytime is also a great place to make new friends while giving your child a fun introduction to language, books, and reading.
There is no charge to attend Babytime, however, registration is required. To register, call the library at 330-534-3512, ext. 4. Registration for summer  babytime sessions begins on May 5.

Foster and Adoption Open House May 10
