Baker wins VFW's V.O.D.

Commander J.E. Malys presenting his granddaughter, Lauren baker with a trophy from District 8 VFW. Lauren won 1st place in VFW's V.O.D. in Trumbull County. Lauren is a sophomore at Hubbard High School. The occasion was held March 30 at Sebring Post 6730.

United Methodist Church in Hubbard and were treated to a well deserved cookout. We could not have asked for better weather. Thank you to all the families who took time from their busy schedules to come out and help with this special event.

Cub Scout Pack 100 worked hard to clean Harding Park on April 19 in celebration of Earth Day. The scouts provided a great service to the local community by removing trash and litter, making visits to the park more enjoyable for everyone. The boys finished up at First

Hubbard ABWA holds 19th Annual Style Show

Jessica McBride (left), daughter of John and Susan McBride, was named the Academic student of the month for April. Rachel Thompson, son of Jay and Martha Thompson, was named the Achievement student of the month for April. Both students were honored at the Rotary meeting held on April 28.

The Hubbard American Business Women's Association held their 19th annual Style Show and Dinner  April 30 at Tiffany's Banquet Center in Brookfield. The gala event was highlighted by the emcee Mr. Music at Madison, Rodd Coonce owner of Full Circle Florist who sang selections from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's with Jack Ciarnello of Take Note Productions at the piano.
The festivities continued with the announcement of the 2008 Woman of the year, Leah Sveda and the two 2008 scholarship students, Suzanne Starheim and Rachel

Thompson. There were many Chinese auction and special drawing winners plus Debbie Chufo, the winner of a free one year's membership to Hubbard ABWA and Kathy Emrich, the grand prize winner of the $500 Eastwood Mall shopping spree.
Style Show Chairman, Cindy Rudinsky and the members wish to thank Sandy from Tiffany's Banquet Center and all the businesses and guests who continue to support the Hubbard ABWA in their quest to raise funds for scholarships.
