Dress Down Day for MDA

Students at St. Patrick students recently got a day without having to wear their uniforms. Each student who chose to "Dress Down" for the day brought in a donation for The Muscular Dystrophy Association. The students raised $108 for MDA by hosting their dress down day.

The Gospel Echoes will be returning to The Atmosphere Café, Friday March 14, 7-9 p.m. The Atmosphere Café is located at 815 Youngstown Warren Road (state route 422) just east of the Eastwood Mall in Niles Ohio. The Gospel Echoes are a Traditional Southern Gospel quartet based out of Akron Ohio. The Gospel Echoes are made up of 4 men with over 80 combined years of experience in Southern Gospel Music. Manager Bob Christy of Mogodore sings bass, David Lemon of Stow sings the lead, Wes Kretzer of Aurora Ohio sings tenor and plays keyboards, and Bill Wiczen of Cuyahoga Fallssings baritone. The Gospel Echoes with their combination of rich, tight vocal harmonies, powerful and uplifting worship, humor and life changing testimonies are sure to be a blessing. God is evidently using this group to make an eternal impact in thousands of lives. Renovating Excellence meeting

The next scheduled meeting for the Renovating Excellence in Niles group is march 9 beginning at 1:30 p.m. through 3:30 p.m. at the Niles High School Cafeteria.

Mahoning County weight loss challenge

This is a 12-week program that advises proper nutrition, food choices, and encourage exercise. Each person will receive personalized weekly, one on one coaching. The cost is $29 for the 12 week program. All participants will receive a free body metabolism analysis the second week, 12 health and nutrition classes, a personal coach, along with cash and prizes awarded to the winner.
Each week participants will weigh in and consult with coaches, who will help you along the way, offering various options to help reach your ideal weight level of protein and calories each day and teaches the benefit of good nutrition and exercise. No specific weight loss program is required.
Everybody's a winner. You make friends you find out that other people cannot get rid of their weight, even baby weight. Cash prizes will be awarded to the participants who have lost the biggest percentage of weight. The "Challenges" start soon! March classes are Now Open for Wednesdays and Thursday class. Free senior survival workshop

A free public workshop for seniors will be presented by Kent State University Trumbull campus and the Alpern law firm. The senior survival workshop will be held at the squaw creek country club. This workshop is geared toward educating seniors and their families on getting the most out of life. The scheduled classes are about making informed decisions for your future.  The following topics to be discussed during the session in a relaxed atmosphere:  estate planning with attorney Jack Alpern. He will discuss getting the right will, trust and power of attorney for you and your family. The second topic of discussion will be about medicaid/long-term care planning: the importance of how to plan so that your assets may not be used up to pay for rising nursing home costs. This will be addressed by attorney Laurie Steiner, for the third topic we will have a special guest speaker that will enlighten you about the ever-so-important subject of managing your finances. The event will be on April 4, at the squaw creek country club in vienna. Registration is at 8:15 am, workshops begin promptly at 8:45. Selling on E-Bay

TCTC Adult Training Center is offering an 8 hour Selling on E-Bay course.  This course features learning how to safely and efficiently sell products on E-Bay and utilize other services this popular on-line auction site offers.
They will be offering two classes each day
. All courses will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm. The start date for this program is March 4.

Not too late for order your Girl Scout Cookies

It's not to late to get your Girl Scout Cookies this year, even if you didn't get a chance to order them. On Saturday, March 15, Troop 204 will be selling Girl Scout Cookies at Daffin's Candies, 39 W. Liberty St. in Girard from Noon-3 p.m. Please come and support the Girl Scouts and enjoy some delicious cookies.
