Local Irish Dancers will compete in the World Championships

Trumbull County Women's annual History Dinner

Meghan McCarthy of McDonald, and Lauren Kepley of Canfield will be traveling to Belfast, Northern Ireland to compete in the 38th Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne, to be held March 23-30. Both girls are taught locally by Theresa Burke at the Burke School of Irish Dance in Youngstown.
To qualify for the world championships, a dancer must place among the top 10 dancers at the regional championships level. At the 2007 Mid American Oireachtas, each of the girls earned a spot, scoring better than over 150 other dancers in their respective age group.
Meghan is 14 years old and has been dancing for 11 years and will be making her second trip to the Worlds. She is an eighth grade honor roll student at McDonald High School where she is also a long jumper and sprinter on the track team. She is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church where she is an altar server. Meghan is the daughter of Patrick and Therese McCarthy.
Lauren is 15 years old and has been dancing for 12 years. She is a sophomore at Canfield High School where she is a member of the Interact Club. Lauren has actively participated in the Boardman Relay for Life for the past 6 years, most recently as a member of the Canfield High School Relay Team. Lauren is a member of St. Christine Church and is the President of the Juniors LAOH. She is the daughter of Locke and Maureen Kepley.

creates Sound Machines

The 22nd Annual Trumbull County Women's History Month Celebration featured Linda Witkowski of the Cleveland Women in History Troupe. Red Hats attend 100 Years of Fashion in Niles

Part of the fun of the Girard Intermediate School Beach Party Dance, sponsored by the Girard High School Robotics Team, was the cheer contest. Several Red Hat groups attended the 100 Years of Fashion lecture at McKinley Memorial Library in Niles.
