"They jumped in to serve the residents and property owners of Trumbull County. During the summer, three employees left the county to pursue similar positions at other SWCD's and ODNR in counties nearer their home towns. The SWCD was able to find and hire three Trumbull County residents to take over the technical work of the district and hired another Trumbull County resident to an administrative position during 2007. The SWCD highlighted its 2007 accomplishments which included its Education Department that conducted 259 classroom programs to 5881 individuals. Almost 300 individuals and engineering firms used the SWCD for support with technical drawings, aerials photos, and topo maps. The SWCD sold 17,237 fish during both its Spring and Fall sales to pond owners for stocking and cleaning. The Storm Water Phase II Plan is in operation with 16 Trumbull County communities. Many activities occurred to be in compliance with the EPA's rules including: public participation, stream monitoring, outfall inspections and community outreach. The SWCD was also named the "Administrator" for the county's newly adopted Erosion & Sediment Control Rules. SWCD storm water plan reviews were at 22 with 144 site inspections as well as 30 Erosion and Sediment Control plans and hundreds of those inspections to the urban and development sector. The district also reviews conceptual plans for the Trumbull County Health Department in septic areas of the county and preliminary plans for the Trumbull County Planning Commission.
