Quill and Scroll Society

Mineral Ridge High School recently inducted new members into the Quill and Scroll Society, an International Honorary Society for High School Journalists.  This Society recognizes junior and senior students who are in the top one third of their class and have contributed superior work in some phase of journalism or school publications.  They must also be recommended by their publication adviser.
This years inductees include juniors Miranda Monroe, Mallorie Berry and Susan Lee-Maher.
Senior members currently enrolled and newly inducted include  Nick Miele, Jon Fauvie, Megan Piersol, Megan Ault, James Taylor, Nick Ciavarella and T.J. Bevilacqua.
These students will be recognized in school during the end of school year Honor Assembly.

Mineral Ridge students
participate in Civics Day

The following five senior students from Mineral Ridge High School participated in Civics Day on March 17. Megan Ault, Anna Boring, Jon Fauvie, Andrea Pannunzio and Megan Piersol. The purpose of the day-long activity is the heighten awareness of public service and civic responsibility. Students "shadowed" area officials during the day to learn more about their duties and responsibilities. The even was sponsored by Trumbull County Educational Service Center. A luncheon was provided at Di Vieste Banquet Center and Marc Dann was the guest speaker.

Multiple
Sclerosis
educational meeting

The Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency of Youngstown will host an Educational Meeting, sponsored by Teva Neuroscience, Tuesday, April 1, beginning at 6:15 p.m. at Austinwoods Health Care Center, 4780 Kirk Rd. in Austintown.
Guest speaker will be Dr. Jay Berke, Adult Neurology Specialist from the Neuracare Center in Canton. Dr. Berke will be speaking on the challenges of living with multiple sclerosis and he will answer questions from those present. The event is open to all those who have multiple sclerosis, their friends, family and caregivers. There is no cost to attend and refreshments will be served. Hubbard High School Lady Eagles fastpitch clinic

A fastpitch clinic will be given by the HLE Softball Team and Coaches. The clinic is for ages 8 and older. The clinic will focus on Defensive and Offensive fundamentals, drills and techniques. It will be held Saturday, March 22 and 29 from 9 a.m.-noon, registration will be from 8:30-9 a.m. at the Hubbard High School Gymnasium.
