Greek Culture Day

Saturday, March 22, the Eastwood Mall Performing Arts Center welcomes an encore appearance of Maids of Athena, Diana Chapter #116 of Warren for a Greek Culture Day. There will be Greek music, Greek folk dance, and crafts for children and Greek merchandise for sale. The Athenian Dancers will perform twice, once at 1:30 pm, and again at 3:30 pm at the Performing Arts Center. Joining the Athenian Dancers are their friends from Steubenville and Boardman, who will dance at 2 pm and 3 pm. Join the Maids of Athena Athenian Dancers in celebrating their Greek Heritage.
The Performing Art Center is located in the Eastwood Mall across from Spencer Gifts, along the concourse between Macy's and Dillard's. All performances are free and open to the public.

The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends Presents

Dr. Franz Gringinger, M.D., Austria and Dr. Lucia Colizoli, M.D., Cleveland, Ohio will present and explain documented healings obtained by following the teachings of Bruno Groening (1906-1959). Many medical specialists, physicians, and healing practitioners worldwide belong to the forum of the Medical Scientific Group of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. Through their medical verification of numerous healing reports they became convinced that people can become free of illness in a natural way. Participants will be able to experience the healing power in an easy, natural way during the lecture. Drs. Gringinger and Colizoli are donating their time and expertise for this medical lecture. Happy Wanderers meeting

Happy Wanderers will meet Friday, March 28 at noon, at the Corner House Christian Church, Hubbard, OH. Everyone is asked to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided. The program will be provided by the Rescue Mission Choir and the history of the mission will be given.
Serving as hospitality is Irene DeStasio, Jim & Ethelene Williams, and Bob Jailet. Greeters will be Joan Aeppli, Joyce Hillier, Wilma Quinn.
Everyone who is able is asked to bring paper products for the mission.
Those whose last names begin with A-L are asked to bring a pie. Pictures will be taken for the new pictorial directory that is being prepared.
Departure for the Carousel for "The King and I" on March 19 is at 10:30 a.m. (tickets are available). The group will also sponsor tours on April 15 to Cleveland for "Some Enchanted Evening-Pop Goes the Classics"; May 12 Buffalo and Niagara Falls Tour; June 18th Short Mystery Tour, July 25 and 26 to Lancaster for "In the Beginning" and "Abraham and Sarah." Niles residents , Russ and Herb Stein, are featured in the book, Breaker Boys by David Fleming. Fleming ,the senior writer for ESPN Magazine, will make a special appearance at the Niles Historical Society Banquet. The event will be at Cimineros Banquet Center on 123 Main St. in Niles on April 30 at 6PM. Sewing Expo bus trip

The Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is sponsoring a bus trip to the Cleveland Sewing Expo at the I-X Center Friday, March 28.
Pickups will be at Austintown Wal-Mart at 6:30 a.m., Niles Super K at 7 a.m., and Champion Big Lots at 7:15 a.m.
We will arrive at the Expo by 9 a.m., leaving at 6:15 p.m. Bus fee is $23 for members and $26 for non-members. You are responsible for your own class fees, and dinner on the way home. St. Rose Ladies of Mt. Carmel  Mother's Day banquet plans

The Ladies of Mt. Carmel of St. Rose held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 11.
Officers for the next two years were nominated. Plans for the annual Mother-daughter banquet were discussed. The buffet dinner will be held at the Brentford House in Hubbard, Tuesday, May 13, beginning at 6 p.m. The cost is $14 for adults; $7 for children 5-11; and children under 5 are free. Members will be receiving a call for reservations. If you have not received a call by April 29, call Tina Siciliano 330-545-9594 to make a reservation.
A light dessert was served and various prizes were awarded with the 50/50 going to Lucy Tascione, who donated a portion back to the organization.
The next meeting will be held Tuesday April 8, with Connie Carasi, Rose Kobal, Carol Kobal, Helen Brdek and Jo Restuccio hosting the evening.

St. Patrick Shadow Days

You can now schedule a "shadow day" for your child at St. Patrick school. A shadow day gives students an opportunity to spend a normal day in their respective grade at St. Patrick school.

Public Utilities Commission of Ohio meeting in Liberty

In the Liberty Township Administration Building on March 24 at 6:30 p.m. Speaking will be guest speaker Mr. Chris Berich, residential consumer advocate will give up to date information on the Ohio Energy Bill.
