An Easter flower's beauty
Brings with it the joy of Spring,
And we went our way to worship,
As resounding church bells ring.
This Easter Sunday at the Girard First United Methodist Church, at 9:15 a.m. their will be an all-church breakfast held in Fellowship Hall with all members and families to bring a breakfast dish to share. This will be followed by an indoor Easter Egg Hunt for the children, sixth grade and younger. Morning Worship Service begins at 10:45 a.m. with beautiful flowers and a fountain decorating the sanctuary. A special children's message and special music will fill the air along with an inspirational message by Pastor Doug Meek. Services are open to anyone in the community and all are encouraged to attend. Choir Director Jim Antell will be back directing the adult choir after turning over his duties to daughter April Antell Tarantine for several months as he spent the winter in Florida with wife Carol, a well deserved leave from his faithful service for over 40 years to the church. April did a fine job not only directing but playing duets on the piano with organist Bonnie Hood, and singing her soprano part along with the choir, especially on the very high notes. Thanks for all her hard work.
Thank you to the members of the Care Team from the Methodist Church for the Home Made Easter Eggs made with string and decorated with flowers, small stuffed animals and Easter grass and candy that were delivered to those in Nursing Homes, Care Facilities, and shut-ins at home. The group is headed by Helen Bayowski and they work hard to provide something special and unique for each season. There kindness is really appreciated.

Spring break for many schools is the next week but it still doesn't feel too much like spring yet. Watch out as the weather turns even a bit warmer as the track "stars" of the season will be practicing their skills and getting in shape as they run through our city streets. Look twice before backing out of driveways or turning comers. These young athletes are very intent on their running and often do not think about cars when they are concentrating on their running skills.
My mother would love to see the spring flowers start to grow in our yard. She is stable and perhaps one day soon she will be able to see them again. With spring and the season of Easter comes new hope again. May this season bring time for you with family and friends to enjoy the hope and promise of a new spring ahead.
Now That's Gallavantin'

Dear Editor:
On March 10, 2008 a very important decision was made by the trustees of Liberty Township. Trumbull County offers transportation for the elderly and handicapped county residents. A needed fee is required.
Every city/area in the county is asked to participate in financially supporting the transit system.
Monday, the caring trustees of Liberty Township enjoined with other caring county communities. This support lowers the cost each user must pay.
The fee for a round trip for handicapped is $3 in supporting communities and $8 in non-supporting communities. The difference is quite stark.
The many of us who use the needed service are quite thankful for the compassion shown by the three trustees in Liberty.

Sincerely,
Linda Maiorana

John Gulosh Jr., 97
