Niles Cub Scout Pack 135 help their annual Pinewood Derby at the Niles Senior Center in January. The scouts made their own cars from the kits they received from Santa at the December Pack meeting. They all worked very hard on their cars to see who would be the champion. At one of the Den meetings, the boys were all asking if TJ Jones would make it a "3pete". Would this be his third year in a row to win Grand Champion? Or could some other scout sneak in and win the cherished prize? Well, after all of the racing was done, there was a victor...NINO VIGORITO! Nino went undefeated throughout every race that he ran. His car was "the fast

est and greatest" that day. All of the boys that participated received a participation ribbon and the winners for the dens won their respective trophies. The winners for the Bear Den was 1st Zack Herman, 2nd Tysen Jones and 3rd Brian Lamp. For the Webelo Den 1st and Grand Champion, Nino Vigorito, 2nd TJ Jones, and 3rd Damon Fiorentino. The boys that will be racing next year are already thinking about how they can make their cars go faster than the scout next to them. Good luck boys! Any boys in grade 1-5 that are interested in joining the Pack can call Committee Chairperson Christy Jones at 330-544-1349 or Webelo leader Lisa Alexi at 330-978-1610.
