St. Patricks school celebrates Easter holiday season

Students at St. Patrick school received a surprise on Wednesday March 19 not only was it the last day of school, but the Easter Bunny made a surprise visit tor make sure all of the students were behaving. He even has a special surprise for some of the younger students. While they were out of their classrooms he hid Easter eggs for them! Before he left he stopped to see the principal Mrs. Gontaruk to make sure all of the students had been working hard and were ready for Easter. She assured him that the students were more than ready and had been working very hard all year. CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS.

St. Patrick cheerleaders cheer on Phantoms

On March 21 the St. Patrick cheerleader cheered on the Mahoning Valley Phantoms who played against the Alpena Ice Diggers at the Ice zone. The also helped a fellow student who was one of the ten chosen in the "Chuck the Puck" competition during the game. The ten winners of the "Chuck the Puck" then raced battery operated vehicles around the rink during the Ice Zones "Phantom 500".

Students in Mrs. Martuccio's kindergarten class at St. Patrick school made Easter bonnets for their families to help welcome Spring. They also received a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny! CONTRIBUTED PHOTO.

Alphabet Career Day at St. Pat's

Students in Mrs. Scott's first grade class at St. Patrick school got into the holiday spirit by decorating eggs for Easter. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO.

Students in Mrs. Leonard's second grade class continue their year long alphabet career day with a visit from Mr. Chris Rosser. Mr. Rosser works for Verizon and spoke to the students about the telephone. He explained the importance4 of safety and how a the students should never touch any type of wires they see on the ground. this was especially important as we approach Spring and the possibility of storms. Mr. Rosser showed the students the different types of equipment that he uses in his job.

Girard Senior Citizens meeting

The Girard Senior Citizens will meet at the center at 16 N. State St in Girard on April 3 at 11 a.m. There will be a board meeting at 10:30 a.m. The dice game will be played after the business meeting.
