Girard Board of Health meeting April 3

A special meeting of the Girard City Board of Health will be held on Thursday, April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers located upstairs in the City Building for conducting personnel business.

President Laura Sobnosky presented Colette Chuey The Friends of the Community Award Thursday night at the Junior Women's Club annual guest night meeting. The ladies of the Junior Women's Club nominate someone for this honor based on their services to the community.

Niles Cub Scout Pack 135 recently held its Blue & Gold Banquet at the Niles Senior Center. It was dedicated to the 2008 Arrow of Light recipients, their leaders and families. We had a pot luck dinner for everyone to enjoy. We also held our annual Father Son Cake Bake with the scouts and their dads or male helper making the cakes. The winners were TJ and Tysen Jones 3rd place, Damon Fiorention 2nd place, and Justin & Brian Lamp winning 1st place. We also had 2 scouts in attendance that earned their Bear Badge, they are Tysen Jones & Brian Lamp. The Pack was proud to present the Arrow of Light patch and Arrow to 5 scouts this year. The Arrow of Light recipients are TJ Jones, Damon Fiorentino, Sean Koshock, & Justin Lamp.

Ursuline High School to
raffle off $10,000
