At Bailey Road Baptist Church in North Jackson a lot is happening for the Lord. Our Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) group participated in the Awana Games held on Saturday March 29, 2008, at Lake Center Christian School in Hartville Ohio. Our Sparks group consists of boys & girls ages kindergarden-2nd grade who are from North Jackson, Lordstown, Leavittsburg, Youngstown and Niles. They placed 2nd. Great job kids. And our T&T [Truth & Training) is also for boys & girls grades 3-6th. They are from North Jackson, Lordstown, Newton Falls, Girard, Leavittsburg, Mineral Ridge and Struthers. They placed 3rd. Again excellent job.
Our Awana group is open to any and all boys & girls from pre-school through senior high. It is held every Wednesday night from 6-8 pm until April 30th and will start up again in September.
Also the church will be holding its annual VBS program the week of June 16th from 9 am-12 pm, Monday-Friday. This is open for children ages 4-finishing 6th grade. Our theme this year is "DinoDetectives: Digging For God's Truth". Come for exciting Bible stories, crafts, games, puppets, snacks, prizes and maybe even a Dino Dig!

Pupils can observe classes at St. Patrick School

St. Patrick school is now scheduling Shadow Days for interested families and students.
A Shadow Day allows children an opportunity to become acquainted with the routine of a normal day at St. Patrick in his or her respective grade. Students who will be entering Kindergarten in 2008-2009 are also encouraged to attend.
You may call the school office at 330-534-2509 to schedule a day that is convenient for your family. Students in grades 1-8 may spend a full day and kindergarten has the option of spending a full or half day.
St. Patrick Kindergarten program is a full day program. School hours are 8:20a.m.-2:50p.m.

The staff of  'Sunny Days' Child Care Center in Girard attended the OAEYC conference for early childhood professionals in Columbus, OH the weekend of April  3-6.  On Saturday, April 5, 2008, the center was recognized by the Ohio AEYC, ODE, and ODJFS for its accomplishment of re-accreditation under the new standards of excellence in early childhood centers.  'Sunny Days' was granted re-accreditation on August 31, 2007 and has been accredited for the past 6 years by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.  From left to right front are teachers: Lisa Williams, Director Michelle Frease, Katrina Carpenter, Michele Hallden.  Back row: Bonnie Westfall, Kristi McGivern, Chris DeAngelis, and Gina Beil.
