Seven Liberty students members of the Y.S.Y.O.
Seven Liberty students are members of the Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra. The students were selected by audition to take part in this ensemble, that is made up of students ranging in ages 13 to 18 from the local area as well as Pennsylvania. The orchestra is conducted by Dr. Stephen L. Gage director of bands at Youngstown State University. The Liberty students participating in the ensemble this year are; Jacob Chevlen (viola), Lauren Fink (percussion), David Weisberg (trombone), Becca Illencik (bassoon), Becca Porter (flute), Alyssa Schor (violin), and not pictured Ariel Prosser (violin). Congratulations to theses students on their hard work and musical dedication.
The final performance of the year for the YSYO will take place on Sunday May 4th at 4:00PM at the DeYor Performing Arts Center. If you would like to attend the concert please check with the Powers Auditorium box office for ticket prices.

Reunion
Liberty High School class of 1953 is planning their 55th reunion the weekend of August 16 and 17 with dinner on the 16th at The Gentry in Hubbard.

Christian Dennis to perform in Northern University Honors Band
Christian Dennis, a Liberty High School sophomore, has been selected to perform with the Ohio Northern University Honors Band. The band will be under the direction of Dr. Samuel Hazo, a well know composer of concert band and orchestral literature. The band is made up of 100 High School students from around Ohio and surrounding states. The group will meet for two days then perform a concert on Sunday May 4th on the Campus of ONU in Ada Ohio. Christian plays tenor saxophone in the LHS marching, symphonic, and jazz ensembles, and is also a member of the Stambaugh Youth Concert Band. Congratulations Christian.
