Textbook Weather Comes to St. Patrick School

WYTV Meteorologist Jim Loyboy brought textbook weather to St. Patrick students in Mrs. Scott's first grade and Mrs. Leonard's second grade classes. The students learned how weather happens and that wind is the key to all weather. The students spent time on Spring time weather and how it occurs. They also learned valuable safety tips for when bad weather arrives. They then watched a behind the scenes DVD on how a television works and the special effects that are used when giving the weather forecast.

St. Patrick baking bread to prepare for first communion

Students in Mrs. Leonard's and Mrs. Martuccio's second grade class at St. Patrick school in Hubbard spent Friday April 25 in preparation for their First Holy Communion May 4. The students spent the day baking bread as a class. Each child brought in an ingredients to help make the bread. Parent volunteers helped the students through out the process.
In the afternoon when the bread was done they had a liturgical service with bread and grape juice. Short reading were done by parents and Mrs. Leonard. the students then shared the bread they had made as a group with each other at the end of the day. Each students then took a small loaf of bread home to share with their families and two loaves will be presented with the gifts at their First Communion Mass.
