On Feb. 22, 23, and 24 the Girard Liberty Rotary Club sponsored two area high school students to attend Rotary's District 6650 RYLA Conference at the Timberlanes in Salem. Students are chosen based on academic achievement, extra curricular activities in school and leadership ability. This year's local conference representatives were Kelly Meigs, Girard, and Andrew Kaback or Liberty. Over 80 students form many school in NE Ohio attended the three day conference in Salem. The conference allows the students to develop their leadership skills as well as interact with their peers form other area schools. Both Kelly and Andrew attended a recent Girard Liberty Rotary Club meeting at Amen Corner. These two fine students discussed the experiences that they gained by attending the Leadership Conference and expressed their appreciation for being chosen to attend this great educational event.
