Seaborn Elementary second grade put on a great musical production '40 winks 'til Christmas', a story about cousins at a sleepover waiting for Santa to arrive. Much to their surprise, as they were waiting, their entire toy collection, including toy soldiers, ballerinas, rag dolls and more, came to life. CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS.

After the children finally went to sleep, Santa and his reindeer and elves arrived. Santa, played by Donnie Timms, was his jolly old self, as the children are suddenly awakened by an alarm clock in Santa's bag. The children watched with excitement as Santa fulfilled their Christmas dreams. The program was directed by Mrs. Susan Owens.

New Signs went up last week at the north and south entrances of Mineral Ridge on Rt. 46. The signs were designed by the Mineral Ridge Beautification Committee and purchased by the Mineral Ridge Fire Association. Sign vendors were Mineral Ridge residents Ann Garris of Vinyl Solutions and Rob Rhodes of Hutz Rhodes Signs. The committee plans to landscape around the signs in the spring. The next meeting of the Mineral Ridge Beautification Committee will be Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Mineral Ridge Fire Station. This month's speaker will be Police Chief Joe Consiglio, who will discuss neighborhood watch groups and other home security measures.

Fifteen hundred parents, grandparents, and friends attended St. Rose School's Christmas show featuring all of our student body in grades Kindergarten-8. Music director, Mrs. Martha Popio, created a variety of music songs with boomwhackers, cazoos, white gloves, patriotic flashlights along with the traditional Santa hats and reindeer antlers. The night's hit, the Twelve Days of Christmas, was performed by the eighth grade. Mrs. Popio drew all of the pictures for the song. It was a great evening enjoyed by all. Well done, Mrs. Popio, and SRS student body.
