HUGS (Help Us Grow Stronger, offering information and support to families of children with special needs) is hosting a free workshop presented by Zel Bush from MetDESK (MetLife's Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids) speaking about "Planning for the Future of Your Child or Dependent with Special Needs" on Thursday, March 13, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of Children's Rehabilitation. The Yo-Mah-O Chapter meeting
The Yo-Mah-O Chapter of IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professionals) will be having its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 11, at 5:45 p.m. at The Blue Wolfe Banquet Center (formerly Lockwood House) in Boardman. The speak for the evening will be Dr. Betty Jo Licata, Dean of the Williamson College of Business at Youngstown State University. Rotary Club's annual spaghetti dinner
The Rotary Club of Howland Township presents their 31st annual spaghetti dinner as a "Tribute to the Howland Township Safety Forces." The dinner will be Saturday, March 8 from noon-7 p.m. at the Howland High School cafeteria. The cost is $6 per adult and $3 per child age ten and under. The dinner is all you can eat and carry-out is available. Tickets are available at the door or you can call 330-856-1003.

State of Ohio borrower outreach days
Are you worried about foreclosure? If you are worried about making your next monthly loan payment for any reason, you will have the opportunity to receive loan counseling, meet with servicers privately and learn about refinancing. Attendees will also learn about foreclosure prevention, legal rights, loss mitigation and credit counseling. The outreach days are Thursday, March 6, at Akron Urban League, 440 Vernon Odom Blvd. in Akron, 2-8 p.m. and Friday, March 7, at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, in Youngstown, 2-7 p.m.

Parent Power Workshop
The Trumbull County Family and Children First Council is sponsoring a free Parent Power Workshop on Thursday, March 20, 6:30-7:30 pm. "Fat is Not Phat (Avoiding Childhood Obesity)" will be held at Eastwood Mall at the State Support Team (SST) Region 5 (formerly NEOSERRC) Office. Please enter on the 422 side of the mall through the doors which are between the Dillards' entrance and the Main entrance, and the SST Office will be on your left. There are gifts for all who attend, and child care will be provided. Refreshments and gifts are being provided by a generous grant from the Raymond John Wean Foundation. First annual Inspiring Minds Classic
The first annual Inspiring Minds Classic basketball tournament will be held at the Warren G. Harding H.S. gymnasium April 5-6. The first game starts at 10 a.m. This event is free to the public. Kent State Trumbull receives grant from Huntington Bank
Kent Trumbull Theatre, with a generous grant from Huntington Bank, is proud to announce our 6th annual High School Internship in Technical Theatre. The internship will include training in scenery, scene painting, properties, lighting, sound, and costuming. The commitment for interns includes 15 hours/week for 8 weeks and crewing a show. Postpartum Support Group
A local chapter of Postpartum Support International (PSI) has formed in the Youngstown/Warren area. PSI is a non-profit organization that has been helping women cope with postpartum depression and anxiety since 1987. Postpartum Support Group Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of every month, beginning on March 20th, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the D&E Counseling Center, 142 Javit Ct., Austintown, OH 44515. Howland School District accepting open enrollment
The Howland Local School District will be accepting applications for open enrollment for the 2008-2009 school year beginning Monday, March 20-Friday, March 14 between the hours of 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3 p.m. Applications may be picked up by the parent or guardian only at the superintendent's office, 8200 South St. S.E., Warren. Completed applications may be returned beginning Tuesday, Marcy 11-Friday, March 14. The following grade levels are closed for the 2008-2009 school year. Kindergarten, grades 9-11. No applications will be accepted for these grades.

Ohio Genealogical Society Trumbull meeting
The Trumbull County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet Tuesday March 11, at 6 p.m. in the Thomas Meeting Room at the Warren-Trumbull County Library. "Travels and Research in Wales", will be the program, presented by Janet Griffin, Sue and Roger Bell. The slide presentation will depict the Welch, their history, and countryside. Wales is a place from which many emigrated, here to the Mahoning Valley. All are welcome to come and meet others who enjoy researching family history.
