Children's Programs at Cortland Branch in March

Preschool Story Time will be offered during March at the Cortland Branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 212 North High Street in Cortland.
Preschool Story Time
for children ages 3 to 5 will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12 with "Cat Capers" as the theme; and at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26 with "Quackers for Books" as the theme.
Story time includes themed stories and a craft. Programs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the Cortland Branch at 330-638-6335.

Nick Macrinos Family Benefit

There will be a pasta dinner to benefit the Nick Macrinos Family hosted by Jeannie's Salon and Day Spa. Call 330-856-6700 for tickets or stop in.
The dinner will be Saturday, March 15 from
4-7 p.m. at the St. Nicholas Church, 2053 North Road in Warren.
Adults are $6, children age 4-10 are $4, and children 3 and under are an optional donation. Carryout is available.
Nick suffered a brain tumor called Oligodendrasite and underwent two days of surgery in January. This benefit is being hosted to help defray the enormous medical expenses and on going treatment Nick needs.

Annual flea market

Central Christian Church 2051 E. Market St. in Warren, will have it's annual indoor Spring Flea Market Saturday, March 15, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. This event will have 18 different booths so bring lots of small bills. Some of the many items for sale will be: antiques, Avon, CDs and DVDs, collectibles, computer monitors and other computer items, household items, jewelry, Longaberger baskets, craft and sewing items, toys and more. The minister will be selling one-of-a-kind beaded bracelets she makes and the proceeds from them will go to church camp scholarships for our youth. There will be a bake sale with homemade items.
The Open Door class from the church will have the food concessions. They will have coffee and donuts early and hot dogs, chili, soup, chips, pie, cake, cookies and beverages available throughout the day. For more information contact the church office weekdays from

SS Cyril & Methodius

SS Cyril & Methodius, Laird NE, Warren is sponsoring a pirohy sale on Friday, March 14. Four varieties will be offered: potato, sweet cabbage, sauerkraut, and lekvart (prune). Haluski (cabbage and noodles) is also available.

10 a.m-4 p.m., and picked up on Friday, March 14 from noon to 4 p.m.
Orders can also be placed for our Easter bake sale. Strudel: apple, cherry and cheese $14 whole and $7.50 half. Pickup on March 14. Kolachi: nut, apricot, poppy seed, and prune, $6.50 each. Pickup on March 19. Pickup time is noon to 4 p.m.

Warren Christian School news

Warren Christian School will be hosting its 2nd Annual Chili Cook off and Silent Auction this Friday, March 7. Judging will take place at 6 p.m., and the fun will begin at 6:30 p.m. All are invited to come out for food, fun and fellowship.
The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children, you will receive all-you-can-eat-chili, hot dogs, desserts and beverages. For more information, call the Warren Christian School office at 330-898-3840.
