The Warren Civic Music Association presents The American Piano Show starring world-renowned pianist and entertainer, Linda Gentille, Friday, March 14. The show features the music of the great American composers such as Gershwin, Berlin, Foster, Leonard Bernstein, Hogie Carmichael, Rogers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Scott Joplin, John Phillips Sousa and Neil Diamond. The concert begins at 7:30 and the doors of Packard Music Hall open at 6:30. A limited number of single concert tickets will be available for this program. Phone the Packard Music Hall box office at 330-841-2931. Gentille recently returned from her 9th concert tour of China, where she holds the world record for having performed over 100 concerts there and is the only western pianist to perform and sing in Mandarin. Linda is a former child protégé of the great Liberace, and her piano style and stage comedy are very reminiscent of Mr. Showmanship himself. Liberace said of Linda, "She is a true piano virtuoso who plays as beautiful as she looks!" One of the show's outstanding numbers is Gentille's fabulous rendition of Rhapsody in Blue. Special guest in the event is Jim Yester, original lead singer of the famed 60's vocal group, The Association. Jim sold over 40 million records with the recording group with such hits as "Windy," "Cherish," "Never My Love," and "Along Comes Mary." Yester will be singing, as well as accompanying Gentille as part of her band on his bass and harmonia. Other band members include Christine Smith, saxophone; Matthew Dreher, guitar; Kevin Kifer, drums; and Jack Ciarniello, keyboards. This exciting show is a perfect event for the entire family and a wonderful motivational concert for young music students. A sneak preview of the show is available at www.AmericanPianoShow.com.
