The last dinner in the series will be held Thursday, April 24.  Joe Rossi from the Area Agency on Aging, District XI, will be the guest speaker.  His topic will be services provided to promote independent living, including adult day care and home health care.  Proceeds from the ham loaf dinner will go to the women's part of the Warren Family Mission.

Woman's Relief Corps news

Hall Relief Corps #104 met March 12, a week late, due to the very unexpected inclement weather and loss of electricity. The meeting was preceded by a buffet luncheon with Ruth Goddard as hostess.
The session was gaveled open by President LaVerne Christlieb and 9 members were present. Chaplain Carol Goddard read Matthew Ch 11 Vs 28-30 from the Holy Bible. Patriotic Instructor Leona Fisher led the group in the Pledge to the Flag.
Relief Committee: Easter cards are ready for our members who are shut-ins and our adopted mother Peg Martin. Past-presidents will be enjoyed this month Friday, March 21 at the Halfway Restaurant in Southington, Ohio. Peggy Lauth will be the hostess and we shall eat at 1:30 p.m. Evelyn Minton has the honor of being hostess at our next regular meeting in April.
National General Orders #3 were read by secretary Peggy Lauth. The 126th National Convention will be held this year in Ohio, so our group will be very busy. Oberlin Inn, located in the historic village of Oberliln, will host our convention. It is a beautiful historic college town that was very functional during the Civil War era. A very fitting site for our patriotic organization.
There are still some tickets available for our Spring Garden Basket raffle. Ask any active member for tickets. Donations are to be given to our National and Department Veteran's Fund.
We the proceeded to have election of officers with Leona Fisher and Anne Gerlt doing teller duties. New officers for 2008-2009 are: President, Ruth Goddard; Sr. Vice President, Leona Fisher; Treasurer, Anne Gerltl; Chaplain, Carol Goddard; Conductor, Claudia York; Guard, LaVerne Christlieb. Other officers to be appointed and installation ceremonies will be held at our next regular meeting.
Under the Good of the Order Patriotic Instructor Leona Fisher read the poem "A Ragged Old Flag" that was written by Johnny Cash. Very good!
Meeting was closed in ritualistic fashion and door prizes were then awarded to Helen Brazil, LaVerne Christlieb, Claudia York, and Anne Gerlt.
