Guided Reading and Writing: For Maximum Student Achievement
Today's teachers face a basic literacy crisis that plagues America's students in every grade level. This new online course, "Guided Reading and Writing: Strategies for Maximum Student Achievement," will give teachers powerful new strategies for improving their students' reading and writing skills. The course instructor, Marsha Spears, is a veteran educator and literacy specialist. "What I'm going to teach," Spears says, "is called the 'total literacy framework,' and it's catching on in classrooms across the country. It involves having students read text that serves as a model and then develop their own writing as an extension. It's very powerful and there's nothing quite like it!" Spears promises that the course will give teachers a sure-fire recipe for turning guided reading into writing-one that works across K-12 grades and subjects and which teachers will want to use often. Students can take "Guided Reading and Writing: Strategies for Maximum Student Achievement" from the convenience of their home or office, and at any time of the day or night. For more information about this course--part of a growing catalog of more than 300 instructor-facilitated online course-contact Kent State Trumbull Campus, Workforce Development and Continuing Studies Center at 330-675-8809 or visit: http://www.ed2go.com/ksutc.
