Junk in the Trunk Sale

TNT Scholarships By Roselyn Gadd
Trumbull New Theatre is distributing scholarship applications. Since 1975 TNT has annually awarded several scholarships , ranging $250-$500 per award to high school seniors or full-time college students. TNT is looking for individuals who demonstrate a love of theatre and will participate in community theatre after graduation. The single greatest requirement for these scholarships is a love of theatre. Applications are available from guidance counselors and advisors. Anyone with questions can call 330-856-2129.

The Hartford-Badger Alumni Association will hold its 121st Annual Alumni Banquet at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 at the Joseph Badger High School in Kinsman. Price is 415. Southington chicken dinner
The Southington United Methodist Church Routes 305 and 534 in Southington will be holding a Chicken Dinner on Wednesday, May 7 from 3:30-6 p.m. the menu includes 1/4 chicken, escalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, and homemade desserts. Adults are $7.50, children's meal with chicken tenders are $4 for children ages 4 through 10, children ages 3 and under are free. Movie Double Features at the Main Library
View four classic movies on April 26 and May 3 as part of "Raiders and Crusaders: Classic Adventure Films that Inspired the Indiana Jones Series" at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW in Warren. The Indiana Jones movie series reflects the clothing, weapons, and style of classic adventure films. Four of the films from the early- to mid-twentieth century that helped influence this extraordinary series will be featured at the library. On Saturday, April 26, one film will be shown at 12 p.m. and another at 2 p.m. On Saturday, May 3, another film will be shown at 12 p.m. and the final film will be shown at 2 p.m. The movies are free and open to the public. Reservations are not required. Parent or caregiver must accompany children. All films will be shown in the library's second floor Thomas Meeting Room. Kentucky Mountain dinner
The Cortland United Methodist Church will be holding a Kentucky Mountain Dinner Saturday, April 26 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The menu will include honey baked ham, Kentucky corn bread, creamed chicken on a homemade biscuit, green beans, bean soup, sweet potato casserole, cobbler and a beverage. Adults are $8, children 3-12 are $4, and children under 3 are free. Proceeds go to the mission trip to Red Bird Mission.

The Fowler Township Historical Society will hold their regular meeting Thursday may 1st at 7:30 p.m. This meeting will be held at the Fowler Community Center located on Rt. 193 just south of the center. There will be a special program of K-9's for compassion dogs that go into nursing homes and hospitals. The public is invited to this free and interesting program. The Regional Chamber and those of Grossman's Bargain Outlet held a ceremonial "Board Cutting" on Thursday, April 17 at 10 a.m. to celebrate the opening of GBO. They also hosted a walk-through the store. GBO, The largest deep discount retailer of home improvements and building materials in the U.S. operates a total of 53 locations in Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and Rhode Island. Warren Athletic Club charity golf outing
The Warren Athletic Club is holding a charity golf outing on Sunday, May 4 at Candywood Golf Course in Vienna to benefit Warren's youth baseball and softball league. The format will be a 4 man scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $65 golfer and $260 team, and includes golf, cart, lunch and all beverages and dinner.
