TMH Foundation hands out awards
The Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation named 22 students as the recipients of three scholarships awarded for a total of $12,000. Lydia Parti Hamilton Nursing Scholarships The Lydia Parti Hamilton Nursing Scholarship was established in 1999 by Mrs. Hamilton's sons to honor her 90th birthday. Lydia Parti was one of nine students to graduate in 1930 from the Warren City Hospital (later renamed Trumbull Memorial Hospital) School of Nursing. Upon graduation, Lydia devoted 45 years to a career in private duty nursing and raising her family. The scholarships are awarded to Trumbull County high school seniors who wish to pursue a degree in nursing. Stauter, M.D. Memorial Scholarship was established by his colleagues and friends to honor him, his work and ideals. Dr. Stauter, an emergency room physician, attorney and pilot, was a strong supporter of education and the intent of the academic scholarship is to support young minds to achieve many accomplishments. The scholarship also serves as a legacy to Dr. Robert L. Stauter whose life was taken on Swiss Air Flight 111. He was the son of Roy and Jean Stauter of Fonda, Iowa, and a beloved member of the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Medical Staff. To make a contribution to the Robert L. Stauter, MD Memorial Scholarship Funds, please contact the TMH Foundation at 330.841-1900 Stephen R. Reese Junior Volunteer Service Award Scholarship The Stephen R. Reese family established the award to recognize the outstanding service that Mr. Reese provided to Trumbull Memorial Hospital, the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation, and the greater community. The scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating TMH Junior Volunteer. To make a contribution to the Stephen R. Reese Junior Volunteer Service Award Scholarship Fund, please contact the TMH Foundation at 330.841-1900.

Camp NEOSA A wonderful experience waits for kids 6-12 at Salvation Army "Camp NEOSA" and we can send them July 1-6. Go to Camp in a charter bus with other kids. You can fish, swim, hike, study nature, do crafts, and do many more fun things for nothing. Parents do not pay anything for Camp NEOSA. Camp is located near Carrollton, Ohio and is fully sanctioned by the Salvation Army. Please come to the Church Mouse in Newton Falls and get a camp application ASAP. We can send about 30 kids this year. Applicants are given on a first come first serve basis.

Nathaniel and Nikolas Dowell of Hubbard participated in the Warren YWCA Olympics at Howland Middle School June 6, 2009. The boys competed in the soft ball throw, standing broad jump and running races in their age group. Nathaniel brought home a bronze medal in the soft ball throw. Nikolas brought home a gold medal in the broad jump and in the 25 yd. dash, a silver medal in the 50 yd. dash and was the overall winner for the second grade for the second year in a row. Congratulations boys! Keep up the good work!
