Budish is keynote speaker at annual
legislative breakfast

Ohio Speaker of the House Armond Budish will be the featured speaker at the annual tri-county legislative breakfast hosted by the Regional Chamber's Government Affairs Council and Youngstown State University. The event will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center at YSU.
Budish, serving his second year as the leader of the Ohio House of Representatives, is expected to review the budget battles and accomplishments of the Ohio General Assembly in 2009 while highlighting his agenda for 2010.  All Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana County state legislators are being invited to attend the event, which is sponsored by YSU. Speaker Budish represents the 8th district of Ohio in eastern Cuyahoga County, including the 3rd and 4th wards of Cleveland. He earned his bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College and his law degree from New York University Law School.
In 1993, he founded the law firm Budish, Solomon, Steiner, & Peck in Beachwood, OH, where he is currently a partner. Speaker Budish also hosts the television show "Golden Opportunities," an informational program for seniors and their families, which can be seen Sundays on WKYC Channel 3 in Northeast Ohio. He has written several books, including most recently "Why Wills Won't Work." In 2006, after both his sons had left for college, Speaker Budish made the decision to run for public office. He was elected that year to the Ohio House from the 8th District. Budish was elected to be Speaker of the House by his peers in January 2009 The Speaker lives in Beachwood with his wife Amy. They have two sons, Ryan and Daniel.

Ursuline High School Community Selling Shamrock Raffle Tickets

The Ursuline High School community is selling Shamrock Raffle tickets. The prizes are: 1st place $10,000, 2nd place $1,500 and 3rd place $500. Tickets are $10 each. All proceeds benefit Ursuline High School Students. The drawing will take place on April 29, 2010. Township meeting cancelled

The Boardman Township Board of Trustees has cancelled the regular meeting scheduled for Monday, March 22 at 5"30 p.m. and rescheduled it for Monday, March 29 at 5:30 p.m. at Boardman Township Government center.

Job Seekers Can Bowl for Free

All area job seekers have a unique opportunity on Wednesday Feb. 3 to apply for employment with three local customer service companies and to bowl for free.
Job Seekers who are 18 years of age or older should bring their resumes to Camelot Lanes, 628 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, from noon until 2:30PM.
Meeting with employers qualifies a job seeker for two free bowling games, including balls and shoes.
