Prepare to be an American Red Cross Instructor
The Mahoning Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering FIT (Fundamentals in Teaching) at the Jewish Community Center in Youngstown, Sunday March 30 from
10:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. There is no prerequisite for this training. FIT is the required first module in becoming a certified American Red Cross Instructor in Babysitter Training, CPR/AED/1st Aid, Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor or Pet 1st Aid. Upon successful completion graduates will hold a certificate making them eligible to enroll in any Red Cross Instructor Course over the next 12 months. The course fee of $25 covers training, all materials, and certification. To register or for further information, call the Red Cross at 330-726-6063, or visit them online at www.mahoningredcross.org. Beef stew dinner March 30
There will be a beef stew dinner at the Aut Mori Grotto (Shangri-La), 7209 West Calla Rd. in Canfield, Sunday March 30, noon-4 p.m. Adults are $7.50 and children under 12 are $4. Mandy's Lost Adventure
Mandy's Lost Adventure" a book written by Judith Lynn Cvetkovic, will be released April 4 from Publish America. This is a fictional story about a dog named Mandy who strays off and gets herself lost in the forest. While there, she meets a silver wolf named "Silver" and makes a friend for life. She meets a lot of critters including a shabby, old man who lives in a tent. Eventually, when she comes out of the forest, she discovers a farm and a farmer named Matthew. He and his family help Mandy to try to find her way home.
