Last chance to return your completed agriculture products and services survey or to submit your design for a logo for the upcoming "Mahoning Valley Agriculture Product and Services Consumer Guide". There will be no charge for any agriculture producers to add their name, company or organization to the guide. Mahoning Soil and Water Conservation District, Mahoning County Farm Bureau and OSU Extension are looking for producers in Mahoning County and the surrounding areas to include in the consumer guide, which will promote everything from locally grown vegetables, fruits, bedding plants, and nursery stock to, agritourism and other agriculture commodities and services. Block Watch Summit
The Mahoning Valley Task Force on Crime and Violence Prevention is holding a Block Watch Summit Monday, May 19, from 5-6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Choffin Career Center, 200 E. Wood Street, Youngstown. The purpose of the Summit is to provide citizens and members of law enforcement information about the importance of neighborhood block watch groups. Information will also be available for residents as to how they can play a proactive role in reducing crime in their neighborhoods. Block Watch handbooks will be distributed to those in attendance. The keynote speaker will be Robert Fiatal from the State Attorney General's office. He is the Superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation for the State of Ohio. There will be a panel discussion where residents can ask questions. The event is free and open anyone living in the Mahoning Valley. For more information call Ricky S.
