Mother's Day bake sale

The Happy Hearts Junior Tramburitzans  of Youngstown will be having a Mother's Day bake sale Friday, May 9 from 4-8 p.m. at the Croatian Home 3200 Vestal Rd. in Youngstown. The Happy Hearts will be selling their famous homemade apple and cheese strudels along with instructions on how to bake them. They will also have cooked strudels and baked goods for sale all made by the Happy Hearts parents. All proceeds from this fund raiser will be used to help defray the costs of attending the 2009 Junior Tamburitzan festival in Croatia. Association of Fundraising Professionals Luncheon Program Set for May 23
The Mahoning/Shenango Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, will host a luncheon program titled "Maximizing the Potential of the Internet to Supplement your Fundraising Efforts - and More!" on Friday, May 23 at 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Avenue in Boardman. This educational program will be presented by Gene Bonanno, President & Certified Internet Consultant and Beth Bonanno, Marketing & Communications Director, both of WSI - We Simplify the Internet. WSI will cover the following areas of interest, as they pertain to the non-profit sector: website design best practices, how to be found in the search engines, email marketing and new emerging technologies that can help increase online giving. Registration and networking begins at 11 a.m. A buffet luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. to be followed by the program at noon. The program will conclude by 1 p.m. Staff and volunteers involved in fundraising for non-profit institutions are encouraged to attend. The cost of the luncheon program is $15 for AFP Members and the $30 for non-members. Advance reservations are required and are due by Friday, May 16. Community Street Festival

The Pig  Iron Literary and Arts Works, Incorporated, Youngstown Arts Foundation established in 1976, will host a Community Street Festival, Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. on North Phelps St. in downtown Youngstown, between Commerce and Federal St. A talent show from 4-5:30 p.m. will feature youth and amateur performers. Concessions will offer food and refreshments. The Festival will be family atmosphere, with no admission charge, and will be non-alcoholic. A complimentary program will be distributed.

American Legion Post 560 Fish/Shrimp Fry

Mahoning Valley Italian Society, Inc. Tony Mannariti Lodge 001 is sponsoring a STEAK FRY. On Saturday, May 10; at the American Legion Post 560 Hall at 103 12th Street, Campbell, Ohio. From 4-8 p.m. Cost is $12 per person.. There will be a 50/50 Raffle. All proceds go to our annual Scholarship Fund.
