Happenings at Bailey Road Baptist Church

IMPACT Town Hall meeting

Warren Junior Women's League/GFWC members attended an IMPACT Town Hall meeting. IMPACT is a program designed to give citizens the unbiased, nonpartisan facts about the most pressing political reform issues in our state today. Mahoning and Trumbull County League of Women Voters sponsored this IMPACT Town Hall meeting.

At Bailey Road Baptist Church in North Jackson a lot is happening for the Lord. Our Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) group participated in the Awana Games held on Saturday March 29, 2008, at Lake Center Christian School in Hartville Ohio. Our Sparks group consists of boys & girls ages kindergarden-2nd grade who are from North Jackson, Lordstown, Leavittsburg, Youngstown and Niles. They placed 2nd. Great job kids. And our T&T [Truth & Training) is also for boys & girls grades 3-6th. They are from North Jackson, Lordstown, Newton Falls, Girard, Leavittsburg, Mineral Ridge and Struthers. They placed 3rd. Again excellent job.
Our Awana group is open to any and all boys & girls from pre-school through senior high. It is held every Wednesday night from 6-8 pm until April 30th and will start up again in September.
Also the church will be holding its annual VBS program the week of June 16th from 9 am-12 pm, Monday-Friday. This is open for children ages 4-finishing 6th grade. Our theme this year is "DinoDetectives: Digging For God's Truth". Come for exciting Bible stories, crafts, games, puppets, snacks, prizes and maybe even a Dino Dig!

Home Savings recently held a "Win a classroom visit from Kelly Pavlik!" contest for its Big Buck$ Children's Account holders, ages 6-12, throughout Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
Joe Granchie, a first grade student at St. Luke's School, was the contest winner so he and his classmates had the pleasure of meeting Kelly and receiving an autographed photo of him when he visited their classroom at St. Luke's School earlier today.
To make the guest appearance even more special, it was suggested by a St. Luke's student that the entire school do something for the KFC manager who was recently shot by a robber and is now paralyzed.  Therefore, students who brought in a donation for this fund lined the hallways and welcomed Kelly with the rousing applause that he deserves!
With current assets of $2.8 billion, Home Savings operates 39 banking offices and six loan production offices throughout Ohio and western Pennsylvania, employing nearly 700 people.  For more information, please visit
