Preschool enrolling
The Rootstown Cooperative Preschool is currently enrolling students for the 2008-2009 school year. The Rootstown Cooperative Preschool serves children ages three, four and five years old. Children are accepted from all area school districts such as Rootstown, Southeast, Waterloo, Field, Ravenna and Kent. Children must be potty trained to attend preschool.
Three classes are offered at the Preschool. A Monday/Wednesday/Friday class Pre-kindergarten class is offered for children age four or five. This class runs from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Children work on learning their upper and lower case letters, letter sounds, writing, colors, shapes, counting, numbers, patterning, sorting, and much more. Children bring a parent provided lunch to school. This class prepares children to enter into kindergarten the following year. The cost of this class is $140 per month.
A Tuesday / Thursday morning session is offered for children who are three years old. The class meets from 9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Children are introduced to school and begin learning their letters, numbers, writing, colors, shapes and counting. The cost of this class is $105 per month.
A Tuesday/Thursday afternoon session is also offered for children who are four or five years old. This class also helps prepare children to enter kindergarten by teaching upper and lower case letters, letter sounds, writing, colors, shapes, counting, numbers, patterning, sorting and much more. The cost of this class is $105 per month. The Rootstown Cooperative Preschool is licensed through Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. There are three staff members employed by the preschool who all hold degrees in Early Childhood Education. All staff also have training in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse and Communicable Diseases, along with other educational training.
